Recently I was contacted to make a custom hat for a wedding.The kicker was that she really wanted a hat that was heart shaped.Could I do it-in 12 days.OK, here we go…

Step one was to build a frame using buckram and millinery wire.After making an appropriate size pattern,not too big or too small.I built the frame.Then it was lightly padded.

 

 

 

 

Covered with fabric from a recycled blouse.I was overnighted some lace from her dress and I cut out each circle and appliqued each piece on by hand added some trim.

 

 

 

 

 

next comes the veil and the final trimming….
